General description of the dust cover |
Design, illustration and photograph all by James Herbert. The rear cover features the same photograph of the author as was on the dust jacket of 'The Magic Cottage' (showing him sitting down with his plimsolls nearest to the camera). The Story outline is on the front flap of the dust cover. The rear dust flap has four paragraphs giving details about some of author's previous books and his skills as a writer and says this is his fifteenth book. |
|
Number of pages and chapter details |
Story runs from page 7 to page 319. The Book starts with the same illustration of a demon that is used on the cover and says underneath "Demons today are a shoddy lot ...". There are then 38 chapters numbered as "1" to "38" with a small logo of a piece of photographers film underneath. |
|
Dedication in book |
"My special thanks to Richard Young, true paparazzo, but also true gentleman (and certainly nothing like Joe Creed, the dubious 'hero' of this novel). Richard's help in research has been invaluable. My thanks also to three other photographers - David Benett for more pap stories, Bob Knight for technical advice and Dave Morse for use of a certain mews house. JAMES HERBERT Sussex, 1990" |

Roger's Review |
A very enjoyable James Herbert book, with more humour than usual. Again, the story is gripping and keeps you turning the pages - an excellent read. Another highly entertaining read from the pen of this great author. 7 out of 10. |
